Is anyone else having major issues with PL8 crashing or failing to load photos? I’m having lots of crashes to desktop with no crash handler (saw the handler once but never again). Previews sometimes fail to load when browsing unless clicked on, at which point the thumbnail will load.
I’m also having issues with large (100MP+) JPEGs where it will get stuck on “Full preview in progress” or I’ll get a message saying “an external component has crashed”. My computer is more than capable of handling these files.

12-core Ryzen 9
AMD 6800XT
64GB ram
PCIe SSD for these files
PL4 has no issues and works just fine on the same files.
Yes I too am finding that PL 7 crashes since the Mac OS Sequoia upgrade randomly when using LA tools or the Repair Tool. I have deleted and re downloaded from My DXO Account page to no avail . I have now downloaded PL8 trial version and I am still crashing when using Repair and LA tools.

Just a little correction. that should be macOS Sequoia. iOS is for iPhones.
For some reason, I have always been reticent to upgrade macOS, having only just made the move from Ventura to Sonoma and, even then, my own DAM app is crashing from time to time and the error log shows it is in the OS.
I have some crashes : I am analysing a folder and when I try to load a project, PL8 crashes.
I don’t remember the recovery way, probably restart ; painful…
I’ve used PL 7/8 a lot under macOS 15 and never suffered a crash what I can recollect.
Removing the app and install it again will not change anything for you as all settings and configs etc are placed externally and kept.
Any chance you could attache the photo and .dop file to some of those causing you the trouble?

PL8 crashes when adding the frame although it as crashed after using 5 adjustments or altering previous adjustments made. Support tell me they have replicated it but unable to say when it will be fixed. !! The problem as become less prevalent since the latest updates from PL8 Elite 8.1 build 35 and OS 15.1.1

Yes. I am having program crashes, previews never load, exports fail… and yes, my specs meet the recommendation. Because of all mentioned above, now I do not use the program anymore. I hope and believe that the next update does fix all this…
I get the feeling as with last year early upgraders are doing much of the beta testing but as I dont get crash reports Im not to sure how DXO will be helped in sorting the bugs. But there are a lot of W11 crash reports nearly every time I use PL 8
Yes Joanna , I was hoping someone might have a suggestion as to why I am seeing an error message that file (.CR3 ) is not supported when .CR2 is listed !
The crash happens when you add the frame Joanne. Then when you reopen it, it is as you have found ok ! The other times it crashes is when you open a .dop and start readjusting the LA’s around about the fifth adjustment . Tech files have been sent to tech support and they are saying they replicate it but can’t say when it will be fixed. !
I don’t know if it is to do with there Mac MI Chip, Sequoia or P8 The trouble started with PL7 when I upgraded to Sequoia. I then tried PL8 on trial and the problem persisted, it is much improved since both Sequoia and PL8 have updated. I guess I will just have to wait and see if it gets fixed as support know about it .
