PL8 Export Error

,

Hi - I have an error when attempting to Export a virtual copy to disk or to print. This occurs only on a 2nd Virtual copy - the reported error is “image could not be processed -connection lost between photolab and dopcor”. I have my 1st Virtual Copy open which exports ok but I wish to edit this using another Virtual copy and export , this is when I get the error. I have the Max cache size set in preferences and I’m running the following sysytem:

Win11

i7-12700

32GB Ram

nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 with 10GB ram

Thanks

Mal

Just checked in PL 8 with the 1st and 2nd VC – and no problem here.

I have tried a few more steps including: Deleting Database & Deleting sidecar which did not solve the issue.

I have however found that if do not apply edits to the Virtual Copy it exports ok and through a process of elimination have discovered that the issue seems to occur when Viewpoint5 Reshape Fusion is applied to the copy.

I had used the Reshape function to “pull” a destracting branch from the corner of the image.

Well, that could be a bug … have to further investigate.

Yes it looks that way, I have raised a ticket with DXO, thank s for your input

Could you send me your files please – either here or via PM.

I tried to upload the files but the forum will only allow 48Mb upload and my RAW is 52Mb ! I have uploaded it to the DXO support team, hopefully they will be able to resolve.

Hi, I have some feedback about this issue. I have been performing various combinations of editing to try and pinpoint the source of the issue and had arrived a place where I could easily and reliably replicate the problem.. It apears that “reshape Fusion applied after “Colour rendering” caused the issue. My workflow to failure was ;

Colour/B&W Rendering

Colour Positive Film

Fuji Instax - DXO Filmpack

Apply some “Reshape Fusion” (free transform” mode)

then “Export to disk”

this would fail every time !

However - as i was working on this I had a pop up msg telling me that PL8.12.0.711 was now avilable so I downloaded and installed it - Hey presto! I can no longer get the image to fail on Export, therefore I can only assume it has now been addressed with build 711 - fingers crossed
