Pl8 and z6iii problems

I bought a Nikon Z6iii and am using PL8.1. When opening a folder with Z6iii images I get the following. The first image creates a thumbnail but the others not. When opening an image, the thumbnail is created.

I upgraded to 8.14 but the result was even worse. It takes a long time to get the image on the screen. Playing with the tone/curve was normally direct, no delay. Now there is. So I moved back to 8.1. What is the problem with the Z6iii?

George

No problem here in PL8.15.0.748 or PL9.7.0.643

I do rename the image with ViewNx2 and add keywords to it. With no problem for years.
It seems that PL is interpreting the keywords somehow different. A very strange situation that the first image is emosaiced right, all the other images give a loading error. Just when clicking on the thumbnail the image is democaiced. Maybe ViewNx isn’t closing the file correct. Only with the z6iii. Z6ii no problem.
I’m trying to download a PL9 trial but I don’t get a link.

Ah ok … I’m not using keywords at all.

I do add them to the raw file. Just single keywords.
Strange is that pl can only demosaice 1 file at a time. As soon there’re more files then there is a problem with the second file.

I also have no problems with my Z6III, although I’m using PL 9.61 and 9.7. I’m just guessing here: What RAW compression setting do you have in your camera? I use lossless compression.

Maybe your files are corrupted (“loading error”). Did you tried to view them with another program?

The strange thing is that if I add keywords to the nef file that then PL can’t demosaice them when in a list. It stops after the first image. When opening a directory a list is created to process the image of that directory. Individual PL can, though it takes a long time. And that problem only exists with the Z6iii files.
When not adding keywords to the nef, everything is ok.
I think it’s due to ViewNx but why only with the Z6iii? Does it have a different structure as the z6ii?
I’m talking of ViewNx, not Nx Suite.

I believe you had or have a Z6ii too. Do you see a difference in speed when opening a directory in an image browser like Irfanview? Or with another camera.
A directory of 70 Z6ii files takes 0.79 sec, on my cellphone. A directory of 46 Z6iii takes 11.18 sec. Files unmodified straight out of the camera.
