Hello, I just upgraded from PL4 to PL5. I am receiving the following error when exporting CR2 files as JPEGs: “Invalid metadata when saving JPEG.” If I export images without metadata, they process just fine.
I have already tried to re-index the photo directory but have had no luck.
Has anyone else had this issue or successfully found a way to resolve it?
Good morning @mwriston and welcome to the forum!
Could you, please, provide us with some CR2 files + .xmp +.dop for the investigation?
Please, upload them here - upload.dxo.com with your forum name and let me know when ready.
Thank you
Regards,
Svetlana G.
Good morning, Svetlana,
I believe I figured out what the issue is. It has to do with how Photo Mechanic (which I have been using to import RAW files and organize my photo library) writes metadata. I had it previously set up to directly write metadata to the RAW/DNG itself, not to an XMP.
I was actually able to resolve this issue by doing the following:
- In the PM “IPTC/XMP” preferences, click the preference that says “Add embedded metadata:” and selected “XMP only” from the dropdown
- Re-indexed my photo collection
After this, I am able to export files again normally.
