I noticed that when performing certain operations such as exporting files, the external monitor becomes disconnected (then comes back after a couple of seconds).

I find this a highly unusual behaviour, but I have been hearing on Apple-centric podcasts lately that there are screen blanking issues being experienced by many people.
I found this reference to the problem.
The irony is that, while I have not seen it on my MacBook Pro nor Studio Display, I do get it on my work Windows laptop!
