PhotoLab 9: Mask overlay - cannot get out of b&w and back to color

I’ve reset everything, restarted PL, and the mask overlay color persists in b&w. Also, the mask option panel that used to be in the upper right overlaying the image disappeared when I selected Black and White. How do I get back to a colored mask?

Wolfgang, thanks for the reply. I understand all of that, so I am not describing the problem. On the screen you have an area that says: Show cropped areas, Show masks, and Color overlay. I don’t have that on my screen any longer: since I changed the overlay color to Black & White.

I hope someone can help. I’m considering uninstalling and re-installing to see if that fixes this. Otherwise I think DxO technical should offer some help.

Hi Curt,
I have tried again, but I still couldn’t reproduce what you are seeing – or not seeing.

( At some point, DxO changed the GUI/handling of the mask overlay, but the current PL7 version looks like the latest PL9 version. )

Your best bet is to try a new installation using a fresh download of the latest version. If you are installing over the existing one, use the repair function; otherwise, uninstall the program and reinstall it.

Wolfgang

Wolfgang, the new install as Administrator fixed the problem! Thanks for your suggestions and for sticking with me through this issue. Best, Curt
