How many GB memory on your GPU?4GB? 6GB? Or more?
I guess it’s 4.
I thing (based on my observations), it’s can’t relerlease the GPU memory, as think (actually pretty sure) that AI model memory footprint is approx 4GB. I’m pretty sure if you even has one (1) AI mask, it loaded, and can’t release because you has AI mask.
So just installed PL 9 - very excited about the AI selection. Only reason for paying for the upgrade. But AI masking doesn’t work: I get Internal Error (correction failed on the execute stage). Cannot get any AI masking to work.
I am on Windows 11 with 64Gb RAM and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 with 6Gb.
This is hugely disappointing. Capture One latest version with AI masking and Affinity Photo latest version with AI masking work perfectly on my computer.
Read the whole thread and sorted it. Ironically, before I installed PL9 I ensured I had the latest NVIDIA Studio Graphics driver … as DXO recommends that you do ensure you have the latest graphics driver :-o I installed 581.29. By regressing back to 576.52 AI selection is working.
I’m running an i5-12600k w/32GB of memory, and a brand-spanking new AMD RX9060 XT w/16GB of VRAM, and I’m seeing the same internal error problem when attempting to use AI masking.
Since this fails on AMD as well, that would suggest that it is not an NVidia driver-specific bug. That could explain why rolling back NVidia drivers didn’t conclusively solve the problem.
Further, I have 16GB of VRAM. That also throws water on some of the VRAM assertions.
The problem occurs on AMD as well as NVidia, and the problem occurs with 16GB of VRAM. Hopefully DxO gets to the bottom of this soon.
Further to my posts above. I got AI masking working by regressing my NVIDIA driver. However, at a cost of performance. PL8 was fast on my computer, but if any AI masking has been attempted the whole thing slows down on PL9 … with endless ‘Full review in progress’. For example, trying to use the crop tool can take up to 45s waiting with spinning wheel. Clearly, DXO needs to get the graphics issues and performance sorted in PL9.
For comparison, on my computer (see spec in post above), I tested AI Subject masking on 3 Raw files with Capture One versus PL9. The selection took 3.5s, 4s, 4.2s on C1 compared to 7s, 10s, 13.2s on PL9. And the more I used AI selections the slower all actions become. With long spinning wheel waits. Don’t have this issue in PL8. And it cannot merely be that I need a better graphics card as Capture one and Affinity Photo perform well with AI masking …
I will continue to use PL8 for noise reduction, export DNG and use C1 for selective editing for now …
So yesterday I got an update, 9.02 (?). I thought, great, now I surely can use the most recent drivers and use ai masking.
Nope, now both the older and the most recent driver doesnt work for me…
I think my specs are pretty good. And im having the same issue. they need to fix or get to the bottom of the issue, ai is the only reason i went from DXO7 to 9.
Operating System Microsoft Windows 11 Pro for Workstations
CPU Type 8C+8c Intel Core i9-12900K, 4900 MHz
System Memory 32512 MB (DDR4 SDRAM)
Video Adapter NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 (10 GB)
Same with PL8. Months of sending reports and screenshots like this, the last answer was “update to W11”. Even if you have “switched the GPU off”.
