Photolab 8 and Filmpack 6

Hello
I have currently Photolab 6 elite and Filmpack 6. They work well together. Recently I downloaded trial version of Photolab 8. Should the Filmpack 6 work with it? If not, is it limitation of trial version or is Filmpack 6 too old?

Also it seems that previously Photolab and Filmpack were released same time. Is Filmpack 8 soon to come? Which would make upgrading to Filmpack 7 not worthy.

“Elite” INCLUDES both FP and VP. No need for separate downloads or installs.

Just to clarify that statement is only correct if you’re using the 30-day free trial.

It seems any version of FP, VP, released prior your photolab version can run with it.
Since FP and VP are embedded in photolab, any version released after your photolab version is not embeded in it so can’t work. This sounds logical.

@DxOStaffPO could you make only one version of all this ? Adjust the price and let user understand what they buy and at what price.
Taking a very common but important function requested for photolab hostage in FP is not very commercial.
A global Photolab super elite version (including FP and VP) would be best.

There seems to be a dialog asking to activate filmpack with existing license number or trial version. I could enter my license number for Filmpack 6 and now it seems to work. This is clear now.

Any news on Filmpack 8 schedule?

What makes you think that a FilmPack 8 will be released soon?

Mark

I believe he was rather asking if others think it will be released soon.

Yes exactly. 2 years ago I bought version 6 of both, then last year decided not to upgrade to version 7. Now there is only version 8 of photolab.

But now I understand that the version numbers of these products have not been same before that and the release cycle is usually quite different.
