Photolab 7 starts up but then closes down

Hi my photolab 7 stopped working it shows the splash screen for a few seconds and then just disappears. I have removed it and cleaned all the folders and reinstalled it but the same thing happens. I even installed V8 but had the same issue. I have logged it with support but I am unable to process any pictures how long do support normally take to respond?

Windows or macOS? Versions?
Versions of PL tested
Anti Malware services present and running?
Graphics and driver used (spec. on Win)

You can also check if PL actually succeeds to contact DxO (console or firewall log)

Things normally don’t just stop. Most offen there was a change like a system update that triggered the stop. Any such action you can think of?

The only recent change was the Graphics card update when I look in the Photolab log file this is the only error I can see

I install the V8 trail version and that does the same thing.

Try doing a full restart of windows to clear out any ghost processes.

Done the reinstall cleared up my processes that didn’t work, seems there is an issue with the net.framework according to my event viewer.

Looking at the top of the stack…

It would appear that what caused the failure was an exception raised whilst DxO’s MachineLearning enumeration was being executed whilst looking for ML devices.

Maybe check your graphics card and/or driver?

I think it’s the graphics card when I change the graphic settings to the onboard graphics it the splash comes up and the blue bar comes up but it crashes with an error message

With dedicated GPU the bar doesn’t come up and splash screen just disappears.

@gillybee66 Was this a graphics card replacement or a driver update, i.e. when PL7 was working (which I presume it was in the past) what was the configuration of both the graphics hardware and software?

If there was a configuration that once worked then attempt to return to that and start again from there or

The Intel(R) Core™ i9-13900K CPU has onboard graphics I believe so one option to see if the GPU and/or the GPU software (drivers) is/are to blame would be to connect your monitor to the onboard GPU, if it isn’t already, remove the A770 GPU (sorry that may or may not be a fiddly job depending on how crowded the case is) and attempt to start PL7 and/or the PL8 trial.

This won’t help with exporting images but might isolate the problem and the potential cause e.g. GPU or GPU drivers or not!?

Thanks, it was the driver update I rolled back to one from March and its running fine.
