PhotoLab 5 can’t find images

I am using PhotoLab 5 with Windows 10. The PhotoLibrary is displaying a list of folders in date order, and everything seems to be working fine, except:

Two folders, which I have in the past opened and worked on in PL5 with no difficulties, now display the message: “This folder does not contain any image”. This is nonsense: the images display normally in my laptop’s “Pictures” folders.

I have reset the PL filters, to no avail. I’ve also tried to open images in the folders via the “Open with PL5” Windows command. Any suggestions please?

You may like to try …

  • create 2 new folders
  • with PL closed copy the content to the new folders
  • restart PL and and check if you can open / see your pics in the new folders
  • with PL running delete the “old” folders
  • index your folders

Btw, do you use a new camera that is not supported by PL 5?

Many thanks, Wolfgang. I’ve done as you suggest, and it seems to be working fine now. The photos were taken on a Canon DSLR I’ve been using since 2015, and the photos which PL5 couldn’t find today were taken in December 2023 and initially processed in PL back then.
