I absolutely support this improvment request .

DPL9 is very smart for demoising and sufficient retouching but very weak for producing automatically smart files according to output size/definition. Typicaly output bi-cubic resampling is brutal and cannot be used with confidenec without damages : its coefficients are fixed and far too strong for different crops and /or output.

Introducing one or two softer coefficient sets to be selected by user for bicubic output final resampling should be a minimum.

Are you sure? – People complain that bicubic is too soft but bicubic-sharper is too sharp.

Just include lanczos. I’m pretty sure that’s what LR uses, and it looks good there (and when I use it externally)

Nothing is perfect, but it’s so common as a resizing algorithm it seems weird to not have it included, and it’s vastly superior to what’s included in PL9.
