Did Nvidia Studio 616.92 fixed issues with PR 6?
Looks like it in PR6.6.1 Released today 9 Sep.
What’s new in DxO PureRAW 6.6.1
Bug Fixes
• A workaround restores full compatibility with NVIDIA driver 616.56, with no impact on image quality
or processing performance.
• AI-based tools now work as expected on computers equipped with more than one NVIDIA or AMD
graphics card.
• Minor bug fixes and improvements
Wonder if Nvidia actually fixed the problem in the latest update?
Nvidia Studio 616.92 and PR PR6.6.1 seem to work fine at least for me
Yes, all is well on my 5 year old Windows 11 PC with 11th gen i7 64gb ram RTX5060 gpu
I believe nVidia fixed it at their end, rather than DxO. I can confirm that on my Win 11 PC with nVidia RX3060Ti, Studio 616.92 is also exporting well and working otherwise with PureRaw 6.6.0 as well as 6.6.1..
Both don’t document their fixes in detail, so it’s impossible to say. There was some compatibility issue introduced by NVIDIA in 616.56, fixed by workarounds in PL and PR, and now it seems 616.92 works well without the fixes in PL and PR (?). The question is if 616.92 “fixes” are compatible with PL and PR “workarounds”.
I’m still on 596.36, perhaps will update to 616.92 after a week or so. I don’t have PR but I have PL10.0.1 (with workaround) and Nik 9.1.1.4 (without a workaround). The “workaround” for Nik9 is said to be coming in around two weeks., but maybe just updating to 616.92 should solve the problem (?).
I see in the second post here:
…that DxO issued a patch to PhotoLab that enabled it to work with the bad nVidia driver. but they didn’t introduce a patch to PureRAW to do that until PR 6.6.5. I installed and tested the new nVidia Studio driver 616.92 before updating PureRAW from 6.6.0 to 6.6.5, and I was able to export with no issues under 6.6.0 (or, after updating, with 6.6.5). That’s why I’m suggesting nVidia fixed the problem they’d caused. Whether that’s also the case for Nik, I can’t say.
Thanks for info. I’ll wait with 616.92 update until next week to see if NVIDIA releases some official hotfixes. I don’t expect any Nik9 edits until late October anyway.
