Bonjour,
I cannot access to Nik collection (4.1.1.0) from Photolab 4 (4.3.1).
Even after Nik collection has been removed and reinstalled.

Error in PholoLab log

It seems that there are some permission issues with your registry. Could you execute the following action to help use to troubleshoot the issue?

First, could you launch PhotoLab as an Administrator to ensure that Nik Collection is properly detected in this mode?
Are you able to list the installed applications in the “Add/Remove programs” window?
Could you open a PowerShell prompt and run the following command Get-ChildItem -Path HKLM:\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\ | Select-Object Name. What is the result of this command?

Hello,

Nik Collection is not detected when Photolab is launched as an Administrator
Nik Collection is not in the “Add/Remove Programs” window, but it is in the list of the programs detected by “IOBIT uninstaller” Tool.

Thanks for your tests,

So it appears that it’s a general issue on your computer. If Nik Collection is not visible in Add/Remove programs, PhotoLab cannot detect it.
The root issue is that some keys in the registry have incorrect permissions and cannot be read (by Windows or PhotoLab). We cannot really know the reason of this issue but I can only advice you to investigate and fix the permissions issues (maybe you have installed a specific tool that has changed the permissions)

Actually, most of the applications use a GUID for the key to avoid conflicts (it’s the case for PhotoLab and Nik).
You can run the following line to find the installed DxO products:

I downloaded Nik_Collection_4_byDxO.exe once again but I did not succeed to install it. No installation screen appeared.
I tried with Nik_Collection_3_byDxO.exe and installation was fine. Moreover, Nik Collection is reachable from PhotoLab 4

@Pieloe If the requested entries are missing, it means that the application was not installed properly so it has to be reinstalled.

@JeanMarc57 According to the result of the PowerShell command, some keys have incorrect permissions in the registry so PhotoLab cannot read them, and Nik Collection installation is probably failing because it cannot read/update these keys. Anyway, it’s a great news that you were able to install Nik 3 (and yes, all Nik versions are supported in PhotoLab)

It’s quite strange. So you have only permissions issues when running PowerShell as Administrator?

Could you run the following PowerShell command as an admin and as a standard user please?

Get-ChildItem -Path HKLM:\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\ | ForEach { Get-ItemProperty $_.PSPath } | Where-Object { $_.Publisher -eq "DxO" } | Select-Object -Property DisplayName,DisplayVersion

. I’ve also DXO and DXO ViewPort3
. Nik Collection 3, that I succeeded in installing, is not listed in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

. I succeeded in deinstalling Nik Collection 3 with IOBIT uninstaller (not present in Add/Remove applications window)

You should see the installation paths of the Nik Collection plugins
