Newbie Question

I am a newbie to this forum, do please bear with me if this question has been addressed elsewhere. I would like to replace version 9.6.1 with 9.6.0 on my windows PC as the latter lagged less. My query: Is it possible to download a previous release of PL9? Thanks in advance for any advice.

No, DxO remove previous versions with each new release. You can only downgrade if you have kept a copy of old version you want to revert to. For that reason, most seasoned users of PL always keep copies of old installers.

If you tell us which OS you are using, Mac or Windows, someone here might be able to share a copy of PL9.6.0 with you.

Many thanks for your reply - lesson learned now (I will keep backups in future)!

I am using Windows 11.

There’s now an “interesting” sub-text to this …

  • I’m sure you’ve noticed that PLv9+ installations now include additive downloads from DxO;

  • I wonder for how long DxO will support/allow such downloads (upon which installations are now dependent) for older versions of PhotoLab (?)

Hmm, yes, hadn’t thought of that point…

I feel that DxO with 9.7 at last got the AI selection with GPU working good and fast with RTX CPUs. I believe that also affects the speed PL 9 can export photos. The RTX 4070 is probably faster than the GPU in your M4.
