New Nvidia driver 581.57 with PL9 AI Mask fix!

And i think its may expected (to use ‘6GB’), even you don’t ‘do anything’.

  1. First, system and other apps (other than PL) also takes some VRAM - usually web browsers. Assume now like 0.5GB used by this.
  2. PL client (GUI) itself usually takes like around 1GB (sometimes less, sometimes more, usually between 0.5-1.,5GB)
  3. If you enable ‘Enable DeepPrime rendering’ in the preferences, its also eat up some VRAM. In the case of DP3 may takes around +1.5GB or more VRAM (with DP XD2s seems a bit more)
  4. If you has even 1 (one) AI Mask in the photo → AI Model loaded to VRAM and stay there. Manual AI masks (and not keyword like ‘Sky’) may takes up approx 2-2.5-3GB VRAM (seems Keyword like SKY use a bit more)

Summary of VRAM usage:

  • System other apps may: 0.5GB
  • PL client itself (GUI) may: 1.0GB
  • Deepprime rendering (for display) in the case of DP3 approx: 1.5GB
  • AI model loaded to VRAM approx: 2.5GB

Sum: 0.5+1.0+1.5+2.5 = 5.5 GB VRAM
We already around 6GB.

I don’t know Deeprime rendering is enabled in your setup, i just assume. I just like to provide an example when 6GB used ‘without doing anything’ is quite possible.

Note: all based on may observations (in my PC) and also other comments/threads in this forum.

Capture One and LRc only use half of these 6 RTX 4050 GB RAM after start.

Yes and no. All of them works differently, provide different in a way. I cant check their behaviour. For first, may worth to try to ‘shave off’ some VRAM memory usage, few suggestion in there: PL 9 not really ready for release! - #404 by andras.csore
