OK. New-ish to Mac. Bought a Macbook Air M3.
Have installed a few other programs no problem.
After downloading the dmg of PL this morning, I double-clicked on the file, the little box popped up and I dragged the PL icon over to the App Folder Icon. nothing happened. Waited quite awhile. Repeated the drag and drop. A message flashed up–no time to read before it disappeared.
Now DxO PL shows in the Finder sidebar as a disk (?). Took screenshots but not sure how to upload them here.
DxO PL not showing in Applications folder or in Launchpad.
Did I do something wrong? How do I fix this?
Any advice or help much appreciated.
Well, I finally got brave enough to click on the DxO PL label in the Finder sidebar. A folder opened with both the DxO dmg file and a folder labeled Applications. So weird. So I dragged the Dxo dmg into that Applications folder and it seems to have finally installed.
I do not know what to think. Now to install Nik and Viewpoint. Fingers crossed.
PhotoLab is installed by dragging the app to the Applications folder. The window with the app and Applications icons appears automatically, but yours might have opened behind the Finder Window. This can happen when you click on that window, it then gets the focus and other things move behind the window. All of this is normal. Next time, let the installer window open itself and/or wait a few seconds before you go clicking around
Nik and VP have installers that you double-click to start. Again, the installers appear in a separate window and again, wait until they show.
If the windows don’t open themselves, you can open them from the Finder.
