Dear DxO Team,
I’m writing to request native support for Windows on ARM devices, specifically laptops powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite / X2 Elite processors.
My setup:
- Device: ASUS ProArt X 2026 (14-inch 2-in-1 creator laptop)
- Processor: Snapdragon X2 Elite with 80 TOPS NPU
- Use case: Landscape and portrait photography, 100-200 RAW photos per week
- DxO products I own: PhotoLab 9 + FilmPack + ViewPoint
Current situation:
PhotoLab runs via x64 emulation on Windows on ARM. While basic editing works,
the core AI features that make DxO great — DeepPRIME denoising and AI Masking —
are either very slow or don’t utilize GPU/NPU acceleration properly.
The 80 TOPS Hexagon NPU on Snapdragon X2 Elite is completely unused.
Why this matters:
- Competitors already have native ARM support: Adobe Lightroom/Photoshop,
Luminar Neo, Affinity Photo, Topaz Photo AI all run natively on Windows ARM. - Snapdragon X-series laptops are growing fast in the creator market.
Major brands (ASUS, Lenovo, HP, Dell) are launching pro creator laptops
with Snapdragon X Elite/X2 Elite. - DeepPRIME on Snapdragon NPU could be a killer feature — 80 TOPS of dedicated
AI power, plus amazing battery life (12+ hours of editing on a single charge)
would make DxO the go-to choice for mobile photographers.
I would love to see:
- Native ARM64 build of PhotoLab
- Qualcomm QNN / NPU acceleration for DeepPRIME and AI Masking
- Proper OpenCL optimization for Adreno GPU
I’m a long-time DxO user and I really want to keep using PhotoLab on my new laptop.
Please consider adding Windows ARM native support.
