Move and copy files in PL9

On Windows, moving a file on the same drive is by dragging; copying is by CTRL dragging.

On Windows, moving a file between drives is SHFT dragging; copying is by dragging.

PL9 on Windows seems to have changed something recently and it is still wrong and does not even match the documentation. Please make the behavior and the documentation match standard Windows behavior or make a setting for users to choose between PL and Windows behavior. I keep losing and/or misplacing photos!!!

Thank you for an otherwise GREAT app!!

On PC

  • Move images from one folder to another: select them in the Image Browser, then drag and drop onto the destination folder while holding the Shift key. [plain drag moves, which is good Windows behavior if on the same drive. problem is that plain drag between drives also moves, which is when Shift should be pressed]

  • Copy images from one folder to another: To copy an image from one folder to another: select it in Image Browser then drag and drop it into the destination folder. [CTRL drag copies if on the same drive, which is good Windows behavior. problem is that CTRL must be pressed if dragging between drives, not good]

For some time (version 9.??) it is no longer possible to COPY an image from one folder to another. The User Guide is not at all clear on this .

Is the only way to do it with Windows Explorer??

I just tested it using PhotoLab 9.9.1 on my Windows 10 machine and was able to drag and drop copies of images from one folder to another using the Ctrl key. If you drag images and hover your mouse pointer over the destination folder and press the Ctrl key a plus appears so you can copy them rather then move them..

This way to copy a file to another folder works!

Big thanks ̈!
