Thanks Joanna. Sad news indeed, RIP Mike
Thank you for the information Johanna,
Mike was a very special member in this forum,. Although at the beginning I felt he is too informative, I have learned to like his Off Topic posts and his dialogue with you.
Tried to find some info about Mike, just to write some words about him, but I didnāt manage to find much info, besides according to the Instagram post he volunteered for nearly 40 years at the Aravind eye hospital in Madurai .
Just managed to find his account on Flicker, according his bio he was born in Brooklyn and lived in Miami beach.
May he Rest in Peace
Sad news indeed.
I dropped in after awile to see if any news is to find but this news i wasnāt seaking for.
Does any one knows how it went down?
I hope he didnāt suffer.
As i am alwayās saying being dead isnāt a problem the dying part is.
He was entertaining at the least and in hart a nice guy.
I didnāt know Mike that well, but I liked his long and engaged answers. I have actually missed them for a while.
Thank you for this information, J.
How sad news. He made some very kind replies to my posts.
Iām sorry to post under Mikeās name, but I did not know how to contact this group otherwise. My name is Erik Myers and I am a nephew of Mike Myers. I am sorry to confirm this sad news. Unfortunately, while visiting in India Mike passed away from cardiac arrest on October 4.
It has been quite an undertaking getting his body and belongings back from India. We just now received his phone, and were able to gain access to his email.
I want to thank you all for the tributes and kind words in this post. Mike very much enjoyed collaborating with you all, and spoke of this group often.
Please feel free to email me with any questions or you may have. Thank you all for keeping Mike younger than his ange and active with your comments, thoughts and suggestions.
Sincerely,
Erik Myers
Thank you so much for sharing your sorrow with us.
You have my deepest condolences for the loss of someone like Mike!
He kept exploring photography beyond all of us.
Erik, my condolences to you and your family with the loss of Mike.
Good to hear that heās brought home.
One point i think itās better to create your own dxo account to hide your email from email scrapers.(So delete your email in the post and create a account under your name with suplement that your are family of Mike.)
Then we all know how to find you if needed or wanted.
Regards Peter
