Metrostation Lille

At the end of the last century, Lille was not a nice place to go. On our way to Paris, we drove past it as fast as we could. Today it is a beautiful city, often referred to as Paris of the North.
One example is the Lille Europe metro station. A very spacious station with decorated walls.

This subway line has no driver and runs all the way to Tourcoing.

I was last in Lille Metro station in 1998 and it did not look like this :grinning:

I don’t know how old that station is. I think it’s quite new, not sure.

The station was built in 1994, paintings are by Jean Pattou (1940-2023).

I don’t recall the murals at the metro station, but perhaps my memory is not too clear after 26 years?:grinning:
