Log directory location change in PL9.2/Win

FYI, PhotoLab default log directory has changed in PL9.2 to ‘%LOCALAPPDATA%\DxO\DxO PhotoLab 9\Logs’ .

Previously it was in ‘{MyDocuments}\DxO PhotoLab 9 logs’ . Probably the change is to make Windows security happy – MyDocuments folder is kind of special.

BTW, ‘Location of various components’ should be updated in the online manual.

Strange that this isn’t mentioned in the release notes, either.

EDITED TO CORRECT
Interesting, my trial version of v9.1 on Win 10 dumped the logs in Documents and the update to v9.2 didn’t change that location. TURNS OUT IT DID, but it didn’t fully clean up the logs folder in Documents.

I also have a (separate) trial running on Win 11. There, v9.1 also dumped the logs in Documents and again the update to v9.2 didn’t change anything. TURNS OUT IT DID, but it didn’t fully clean up the logs folder in Documents.

For me, on Win 11, I have:

  • PL9.1 log file in My Documents
  • PL9.2 logs in %LOCALAPPDATA%\DxO\DxO PhotoLab 9\Logs

quite the same here in PL9.2 – crashes and logs are in Users\Documents\DxO …

just noticed by the (up)date on Nov 5th → logs from PL7.18, 8.10, 9.2
are now in Users\AppData\Local\DxO\ DxO PhotoLab 9\Logs\ …
