Leica Q3 43

Please can someone advise when the Leica Q3 43 lens / files will be supported by DXO photo lab 6? Thanks

Support for the Leica Q3 43 is scheduled for February 2025. However it is highly unlikely that PhotoLab 6 will ever receive updates for that camera and lens. To get those updates you would need to be using either PhotoLab 8 or PhotoLab 7. DxO’s current policy seems to provide updates for the most current version of PhotoLab and the previous version.

The short term exception seems to be that for the first few months after a new version of PhotoLab is released, DXO still provides some updates to the n-2 version, which in this case would be PhotoLab 6. However, we’ve gone past the period where PhotoLab 6 will receive any new lens and camera updates. The December lens and camera updates were only available for PhotoLab 8 and PhotoLab 7.

Sorry to disappoint you.

Thanks Mark - Will keep my eyes out for that then, until then I’ll view my images from the camera LCD  Will try avoid the Lightroom temptation! Not too sore to upgrade from PL6 to PL8…

Since you are a PL6 user, you are entitled to get PL 8 at the upgrade price. If you were still using PL5, or an older version, you would not have been eligible for a PL 8 upgrade and would have had to purchase a new license.

I strongly suggest you download the 30-day free trial of PhotoLab 8 and make sure it meets your needs before purchasing it. Since it is only a 30-day trial, I would wait to download it until support of the Leica Q3 43 becomes available.

For a long time Q3 43 was scheduled for Dec 2024, but they moved it to Feb 2025. No guarantees it will actually happen then, but I hope it won’t be pushed much longer. Bummer to get a new camera and have to wait half a year before you can edit a (DNG) photo.

Yeah I know, can view on Affinityphoto but without lens correction, you get the lens hood in the top corners showing!
