Leica Digilux2 RAW not recognized?

Hello community
I was given an old (2004) ‘point-and-shoot’ Leica Digilux2 sporting a 5 Mp CCD sensor and an impressive Vario-Summicron with 69mm filter size. The same camera was available as LC1 from Panasonic.
As noise becomes noticeable at ISO 400, I hoped to use its RAW format in PL7, but it is not recognized. The old Leica format can be ‘developed’ in Adobe PSE or Affinity Photo 2, but these lack the excellent deep prime noise reduction of PL7.

Any suggestions how I could proceed?

Cheers, Christoph

Well, you can probably “cheat”, as I did with my Leica M8.2 which is not recognized by PhotoLab. With an EXIF editor, I changed my camera name to something the software would accept, and from then on, I could edit the images from that camera in PhotoLab.

I wish DxO would create a camera category named “unknown”, which would at least allow us to edit those images in PhotoLab, even if the software couldn’t make camera-specific adjustments. For me, it was either “cheat”, or use “DarkTable”.

Did you check if a “Panasonic LC1” is accepted by PhotoLab?

Go here:
Appareils supportés - DxO

I did a search for Panasonic:

Are any of these Panasonic cameras similar to yours? If so, change the EXIF data to that camera, and that might open up your image. Maybe an “LC1” is similar to one of the other Panasonic cameras that is supported.

Thanks for the tip. I will try to tweak the EXIF data.
I already tried to save the Leica RAW as DNG to no avail. PL7 still refuses to recognize the camera.
