Such photo is almost perfect for the following corrections, at least as I see it:
- Increase Fine contrast Highlights and Shadows (make the bird more “readable”)
- Decrease Fine contrast Midtones and Finecontrast (bokeh smoothing)
- Perhaps increase Lens Sharpness more than you would normally do (not sure)
You can be quite bold with these corrections, I think.

Selective Tones Shadows = +30
Selective Tones Blacks = -5
Microcontrast = -70
Contrast Highlights = +50 (FilmPack license required)
Contrast Midtones = -100 (FilmPack license required)
Contrast Shadows = +100 (FilmPack license required)
Slight WB warming using color picker, not sure if it’s OK.
Unfortunately no Lens Sharpness Correction, since it’s a jpeg. It might be useful if you go down with microcontrast but sometimes it’s not needed.

I have not got FilmPack. Yes I could have blurred the rock around the bird using PL.
But this pink granite is unique (only two locations in France) and that’s why I kept it. A balance between the composition and the “scientific” topic

Yeah, we all see different things – pink granite, busy bokeh, cigarette butts 
When I was quitting smoking, I’ve seen those butts everywhere.
