I've just noticed that the photo being edited gets fuzzy as the sliders are moved

It seems that I have an observation or question daily. Sorry. But I just noticed that if I have a photo up in the Customize pane, moving a slider such as Shadows or Blacks or any of them causes the photo to go out of focus while the sliders are moving. It then snaps back to full focus when the slider stops. The adjustments are still being made, but the whole photo is fuzzy during any process that involves moving any slider for color or contrast or just about anything that affects the photo’s appearance.

I can’t believe I haven’t noticed this behavior before this.

Go to the Edit > Preferences menus and enable High Quality Previews. That will change the behavior you’re seeing. See if that works well for you. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I’m such a putz. I turned those options off recently. So, yes, everything is back to normal. Thank you for being kind with your reply. I’m so used to the disrespect on Reddit that it seemed odd that I didn’t get put down for not knowing what the settings do.

I’m going back under my rock now. :upside_down_face:

No worries. We’re all in this together! And it happens that many people don’t know what this setting does.

It was a valid question. The reason that feature exists is because on some older, less powerful, hardware configurations activating that option can have a negative impact on performance. Which other options had you disabled?

The members of this site are generally very welcoming and helpful, but we are only human and on occasion some new posters do try our patience.

Mark

Thanks Mark. No, that was the only setting I disabled.

We’re all putzes at some point. It never hurts to ask and while there have certainly been disagreements on these forums, there are generally no dismissive replies. We all start somewhere.

Please don’t. You’ll learn more, and more quickly, if you hang around here.

:face_with_monocle: Fine… (oh, I got a warning that my body (of the message) is too short. This is padding for the forum gods).
