hey, 20 years of using DxO products this year !
I just bought the new version as the loyal customer I am. It took me some time to make good use of the AI masking…and I will be very carfull about, not so miraculous if you look closely for fine art prints.
It’s always a disappointment to see gorgeous colors in the vignettes gradually becoming flat and lifeless as PL applies its standard profile by defaut. I was previously able to get back to my initial vision starting from DPL R5 color profile and build from there. Not anymore in PL9. => Correction, I re-did installation and it’s back.
And more than that, I really want to have in the future all the color simulations from the GFX and Canon bodies available in DxO, as well as the pentax bodies I use. When a body is supported it should not only be the sensor, but also the color recipe that we should be able to reproduce in DPL. Possible?
DxO have never offered the unique in camera profiles in their PL. they do offer some simulations of them through which are quite good.
They have also change some of their own default profiles which have taken some users by surprise as they missed reading that in the release notes. Buts it’s not that difficult to change it to something in your taste.
You can definitely use any of them as they are or modify it yourself and include it as a default applied profile when you open your photos.
One way to get camera specific .DCP profiles is to download Adobe’s DNG converter. It comes with a load of profiles. Some are Adobe’s default profiles, others emulate camera picture styles.
Negative Lab Pro (which is a plugin for Lightroom Classic) also provides linear profiles.
