Excuse me if this is something I should already know, as I’m new to PureRaw, but is there a way to increase the exposure of the image in PureRaw’s preview?
I am sending nightscape shots to PureRaw and they are of course very dark; I Lr I will be increasing exposure, sometimes a few stops at least. So it’s hard to tell what the effect of the denoising is in the preview in PureRaw. Is there a way in that program to increase the exposure, just for the purpose of comparison?
Welcome to the forum @Creek211 and no, exposure can’t be changed with PureRAW.
No matter what we do to an image before sending it to PureRAW, PR will always process the unmodified RAW file. On return of e.g. a DNG file, Lightroom can apply some of the settings, provided they were saved in the XMP sidecar file.
I’d recommend to always process files in PR first and work on the exported files in Lightroom. This is a workflow simple to understand and saving a few headaches…and make sure to check how you set sharpness. Its default setting is too aggressive imo.
