I thought I needed FilmPack? Or is this different? Thanks. (Macbook)
Yes you need FP7 or higher.
I don’t have FilmPack.
I have the same question:
In the trial version of PL10, I can find the Luminosity mask under “Local Adjustments” and can use it even without FilmPack installed. (This behavior differs from earlier trial versions.)
Will this feature be disabled if I purchase the full version and don’t have FilmPack?
I have purchased V10. Never had the demo.
Obviously maybe different for you…
Possibly a glitch? Could be switched off again in the next update.
Maybe we shouldn’t talk about it ? ![]()
I have the v10 trial with luminosity sliders but I also have FilmPack installed.
I guess for the trial it makes sense for DxO to enable luminosity masking so people can try it out before… finding they need to buy not just PL10 but also Film Pack to get it back again.
If that’s the case, that’s one nasty bait-and-switch.
Looking at the user guides unlike PL9, it is not specified on PL10 that FP is necessary.
That’s a result! Makes the upgrade better value for some. Thanks for looking it up ![]()
I have the trial, no filmpack, and the Luminosity mask is present and working.
See how long that lasts.

It is my understanding that in the trial version of PhotoLab 10 Elite, both the built in FilmPack and Viewpoint plug-ins are enabled. I am not sure without checking, what features are disabled in PhotoLab 10.
To get the best out of PhotoLab 10 you need the Elite not Essential version, and a FilmPack and Viewpoint licence.
I have purchased elite v10. I do not have filmpack. I do have the luminosity mask.
I have to say, DxO are not making it easy, to work out what features are lost without a FilmPack and/or Viewpoint licence in PhotoLab 10?
That’s great to hear !
