Whenever I use the local adjustment tool it remains active while working on other images. How to I stop this???
Just click on the active tool button once again.
If you forget to deactivate LocalAdjustements, WB, HSL, or ToneCurve picker tools, you may also double-click on the ‘ReTouch’ button, third icon from the right on the top, or press ‘N’ key twice (using Windows, not sure about the shortcut on Mac).
Please welcome to the forum.
Now, that’s a real workaround. ![]()
Thanks for that!
.
In the Mac version (below the preview), there’s a clearly visible Close button that does exactly what its name suggests – it’s impossible to miss.
For Windows, I’ve repeatedly requested that a similar button be added in a prominent position in the top bar, but without success.
This is really annoying, especially when adjusting LA settings and the top edge of the LA window is out of sight!
Just press ESC.

Arrgh, I missed the obvious. Maybe it’s because I rarely use keyboard with PhotoLab and prefer using double-click on the ReTouch button for the purpose.
Yes, thank you!
It’s just that in PL I avoid to hit < ESC >, as it confirms e.g. cropping instead of leaving the file unaltered – annoying.
