How to activate NIK & DxO on my new iMac? They are running on my MacBook Pro. I used Migration Assistant from the MacBook Pro to start the new iMac. I downloaded and the apps said they were installed, but when I try to activate from PS, it says the activation failed and contact DxO. The Help section says I’m entitled to 3 installs. I’ve been a customer for many years, could they think I have more than 3 installs? Frustated tonite )Friday) because I have an assignment due on Sunday. This is my first try on the Forum. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks, Bill Slavin
Yes. The DxO software protection system is based on the machine hardware ID. New system = new hardware ID. Since they don’t offer any way to deactivate their software before installing on a new system, your only solution is to ask them to decrease your activation count or to increase your maximum installation count.
Golden rule. Never upgrade anything just before the weekend. It is very unlikely you will get any response from DxO until after the weekend. Oh, and this is a long holiday weekend here in France that bridges Bastille Day on Monday 14th July.
If I were you, I would revert to your old machine for this assignment.
I second that statement
If you have the time and inclination, you could try the following on your new iMac
- move your license files to a new folder
(location of files depends on app version number) - Start Nik Analog Efex and see if it asks for a license.
If it does, enter your license code - check if the code has been accepted
if not, post a screenshot of the error message
Thanks. I managed to get it done on the laptop. Thanks for your support!
Ha! You are right. Not on Friday! I got it done on the laptop. Thanks for your support.
