I have left Adobe and I am really hoping I can stay away, but Im seeing a roadblock for me.
The most important part for me is masks.
Is their a detailed video on masks that someone can point me to. The ones Ive seen are just basic introductory ones. And perhaps I can t even do what I want to?
I really dislike the big red mask colour when adding a new mask. I find it super distracting and would like to get rid of it.
In LR i would create the mask and try some adjustments and perhaps paint a bit more on but when I add in DXO it shows the big red blob and is super distracting if I want to do subtle things.
I have used the M shortcut to hide the mask, but it sometimes works and sometimes doesnt. when i add multiple masks it gets confusing to figure which is on or off and again the big red blobs go everywhere.
Im about to flag it as I find this part of the software so clunky, and its where I mainly live.
Thanks. I assume their no way you can just have an outline of the mask.
I’m also having trouble with the shortcut ‘M’ which is supposed to hide the mask colour. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn’t. I can seem to figure out what circumstances cause which behavior
The issue with some keyboard shortcuts in PL is that PL reacts to many keys depending on given context.
As an example for easier to use (and more efficient) user interface design can be found in Lightroom Classic. It can open white balance, no matter where you are, be it in Library view, compare, preview etc. Hit “W” and LrC opens the edit view and the white balance tool. No modifiers needed, and, again, it just works. Other keys are used to flip through the film strip (cmd-arrow keys), activate a comparison (C), open the crop tool (R) etc.
