Graphics card PL 8 Mac

PL 8 on Radeon Pro 580 8 GB. Will it work?
Thanks

Probably. Do you have a machine with such a graphics card in it? If so download the free trial of PL8 and try it yourself.

Meanwhile, if I tell you that Google searches tell me a Radeon 580 out performs a Nvidia GTX 105 Ti by quite a bit and my ancient Windows desktop PC only has a GTX 1050 Ti and PL7 on it can export 32.5 megapixel .CR3 files using DeepPRIME XD in about 55-60 seconds, does that help?

My iMac has Radeon Pro 580X 8 GB. It is used e.g. during export with DeepPRIME denoising.
Check out the GPU values of DPL 6, 7 and 8 respectively:

Even though PL8 shows lower numbers, export times were comparable at around 5’30’’ for 60 image files…except that PL8 took 5’50’’

The results look like PL8 has optimised export algorithms, at least when using DeepPRIME on an otherwise “No Correction” output.

Test: 60 images treated in PL6 with No Correction and DeepPRIME.
Manual .dop export and manual .dop import in PL7 and PL8 before processing.
Parallel export set to 4 higher figures can be counter-productive.

Thanks for the replies.
My Mac mini (2018) 3.2 GHz Intel Core i7 64 GB, eGPU Radeon Pro 580 8 GB, does an adequate job with Deep Prime PL 7.
Just wondering if PL 8 had a more strict requirement.

Trying it out by using the free trial will give yoo a far better anwser than anybody here can say.

I have an irrational aversion to downloading trials.
But I downloaded V8 anyway.
Seems to work well. Maybe even a second faster on export of a DeepPRIME noisy image.
