Going crazy - Can't get masks to work

Hi,

A photo of my dog in the woods: I’m adding an AI mask, making sure the mask is highlighted, But when I try to change the exposure the whole image is edited. I’m new on photo labs on a trial version. Looks promising but not being able to use masks annoys me. Probably I’m doing something wrong but can’t figure out why.

Any input is highly appreciated.

You need to be more specific and, possibly also add a screenshot to demonstrate the problem

I managed to find the solution. Added a mask and then chose the AI subject detect. It worked.
