FP8 vs FP6 when used solely inside PL

Just looking for some insights and advice on any benefits to me upgrading from Film Pack 6 to Film Pack 8 when the only features I will use are the contrast and iirc hsl benefits of having FP installed/activated inside PL.

I originally bought FP6 to also get the Fuji profiles for my at the time Fuji XT4 but that’s no longer something I am interested in as no longer shoot with the Fuji.

I never upgraded to FP7 as I moved away from DxO for a period but am now trialling PL9 again and highly likely to purchase.

As I have yet to upgrade to MacOS Tahoe Film Pack 6 still installs and runs standalone/inside the PL9 trial (or at least as far as I can tell with the latter).

So basically. Did anything worthwhile get added to FP7 and then FP8 over FP6 for a user who doesn’t want or use the Time Machine and such features or indeed the software in its standalone version and only uses it form within PL.

Aside from the additional contrast and hsl (again iirc) functions which I have with FP6 has anything else been added or this features improved in the last two versions to justify the additional cost on top of a new PL9 license (I am out of the upgrade window).

Thanks.

Add the Luminosity selection / mask, which was introduced with FP 7.

Otherwise, to run FP 8 as PlugIn you need to have PL 9 installed, which comes with different hardware requirements.

To get an overview for FP8 standalone check the user guide and readme file.

Thank you for that.

I will have to purchase PL9 regardless as I no longer have an installable/supported version anyway hence trying to see if there’s likely value to also adding FP8 to my costs.

Hardware requirements should realistically pose no issue.

Will activate the FP8 trial inside PL9 (also trial at present) and have a ply with the masks and see from there but seems may be some added value.
