Fix Help File to Specify Conditions to Have PureRAW Apply LR Edits

The help file for PureRAW says that edits done in Lightroom will be preserved when PureRAW is called from the Lightroom Plugin. However, it does not mention that it only works in the following two conditions:

File is a DNG
Raw file has had metadata saved to XMP

I wasted an hour trying to figure out what the problem was (I don’t normally save to XMP) due to this simple lack of documentation. Before I found the solution I sent a question to support which still hasn’t received a respone. You could save your users a lot of trouble with this simple change, which would take about 2 minutes.

7 weeks later and help file has not been fixed. Tech support didn’t even know about the requirements above. I could fix it in less than a minute if I had access. Not much concern on the part of DXO to provide accurate information for PureRAW. I am not impressed with the support.

This is a User forum - so, if you were expecting your note (above) to be read and acted upon by DxO then that’s not impossible, but it’s not likely.

I suggest you make your suggestion via the support site (perhaps as an addendum to your original support request).

I’ve already reported it to them and they haven’t fixed it in a couple of months. Just letting other people know that they’re not serious and won’t even make a simple correction to a help file that would help people avoid having problems. In my opinion, that is very poor support.
