Filtering by tag broken in PhotoLab 8?

Ok, another problem that I have with PL 8.1.0 (macOS) is that the option to filter by tag appears to have vanished!

On PL7, I can filter by any combination of the selected/rejected/untagged states, but on PL8 the options to do this are missing from the pop-up menu. This is very frustrating as I can not longer filter the rejected images to delete them when done.

Is this a bug or were they filter options moved somewhere else?!

Ok, I understand what is happening!

It turns out that if you set anything under the Preferences : Thumbnails / Icons display to display ā€˜Neverā€™, it not only turns off the display on the icon, it also removes the corresponding option to filter the images as well.

This does not make sense to me. I turned off the icon display because I was trying to de-clutter the display. But I can still use the tags, and see rejected images because they are dimmed. So it does not make sense that turning off the icon display also turns off the ability to filter imagesā€¦

EDIT: To be clear, this is reply to post #2. OP is handled by @Wolfgang below.

So you must be on Mac, because in Windows I donā€™t have that option.

Personally, since I mostly work with a mouse, I would like a single key shortcut to hide the filmstrip, say F10, rather than Ctrl-F9. I can live with Ctrl-A (select all), because itā€™s a safeguard, but I often have to hide the filmstrip.

BTW, my only customization in the Display Settings is ā€˜Info panelā€™=Always OFF ā€“ if I need image properties, I may use the context menu. The default is a bit annoyingā€¦

In Windows the entry ā€œSet tagā€ is responsible to hide

from the filter list.

.
Try with On mouseover ā€¦

On the Mac, you can toggle the display of the film-strip using Shift+Tab.

Iā€™m on Win, which is good and bad. On Mac, this is the other way round: bad and good.
