Filtering by stars: please add 'N or more' as option

Hi all,

DxO Photolab is my go-to photo editing suite nowadays, and I love it. One thing really irks me, though, and that is the filtering options. I want to ask Photolab “give me all photos with 2 or more stars”. This now (unless I’m missing something, which is entirely possible) requires me to click:

  1. Filter
  2. Scroll (because it opens downward on my laptop monitor)
  3. Click the ** menu item
  4. Click on Filter again, because the menu closed
  5. Scroll again, because it didn’t remember its previous position
  6. Click the *** menu item
  7. Repeat steps 4-6 for the four-star and five-star options as well.

As you can see, lots of clicking and scrolling.

I’d :purple_heart: to have a subtle change, where the N-star option shows all photos with at least N stars. Then I can activate just one filter option and see all the cool photos.

If that’s not possible, it would at least help to have a way to keep the Filter menu open. That way I can just click all the filter items I want to activate, without having to re-open the menu, scroll, find the item, and click it, for every individual filter item.

Thank you for listening!

Cheers,
Sybren

PS: I’m using a Macbook Air (M3) with macOS 15.5.

Please welcome to the forum.

In my case of PL8.7 on Win11, clicking on any choice in the Filter menu does NOT close the menu, neither in PhotoLibrary, nor Customize mode. Works also on gropus of selected thumbnails. I use filtering on stars, colors, status, RAW/RGB quite often with several simultaneous choices since PL7.1 and never had this problem.

Maybe you are on Mac?

Hmmmm interesting.

Yup, I am indeed. Macbook Air (M3) running macOS 15.5.
