Feature Request: Split White Balance into Temperature and Tint as Separate Options in "Paste Selected Corrections"

Hello DxO Team,

I’d like to suggest an improvement to the batch white balance application feature.

Currently in DxO PhotoLab, when using “Copy Correction Settings” and “Paste Selected Corrections,” White Balance is treated as a single option that cannot be further subdivided. This means when I copy white balance settings from one image and paste them to others, both Temperature and Tint are applied together, with no way to apply just one of them.

This works fine when batch processing photos taken in the same scene under similar lighting conditions. However, it becomes problematic when processing photos across different scenes. For example, when I want to standardize multiple photos from various scenes to a specific color temperature (say, setting all photos to 5500K) while preserving each photo’s original Tint value, the current design makes this impossible. The Tint value for each photo may originally differ due to varying lighting conditions on location, and forcing a uniform tint can make the images look unnatural.

I’d like to propose two possible solutions—either one would solve the issue:

Option 1: Split White Balance into two sub-options in the “Paste Selected Corrections” dialog

Under the existing “White Balance” checkbox, please add two independent sub-options: “Temperature” and “Tint.” Users could then freely choose to copy only one of them, or both. This would address the need to “unify temperature while preserving individual tint values.”

Option 2: Develop an Auto White Balance feature

An alternative approach would be to develop an Auto White Balance function similar to Lightroom’s “Auto” button. Users could specify a target color temperature value, and the software would apply this temperature to the selected photos while automatically calculating the optimal Tint value for each image based on its content. This would not only solve the above problem but also significantly improve batch processing efficiency.

This feature would be incredibly useful for users who need to process large volumes of photos—such as event photographers, wedding photographers, and travel photographers. I hope the team will consider implementing this. Thank you!
