Exporting & Saving processed files

Just to confirm, there is no way in DXO, upon exporting / saving the processed image, wherever I want, desktop etc., without putting into a folder? Otherwise everything is grayed out.

Not true, you can export anywhere, just specify the path and PL will put the files there.

If you are on a Mac then make sure you have write access to the location you are exporting to. Windows does not have this issue.

Not sure what you are asking here … All files are technically in a folder somewhere, unless they are exported to Messages or AirDrop or somewhere else off in the ether. What is it that is greyed out? Maybe a screenshot would help explain?

You can create export profiles to impose presets on an export (size, format, metadata, etc) but it sounds like you already know about that.

You should be able to export them where you want on your workstation.
Looks like an OS configuration to adjust.

Here no problem to export from PL8 to the desktop on win11 with the basic configuration (unless I validated some OS option when or after PL installation, I do not remember).
I just checked this now since I never use desktop for this kind of use - I prefer not to clutter C drive and keep my desktop about empty.

But I remember a friend had problems doing something similar ; he had to validate some security-related permissions on an older version of window to allow a software to work on desktop.

I don’t know how it works on mac.

My MAC version of DXO 8, will still not allow me to put the file anywhere outside of a folder, everything else is grayed out. Double checked permissions every is set to read / write. Not a huge issue, but sometimes I just need to get a quick sample out and want to drop it on my desktop.

Have you checked the disk permissions ?

Yep, first thing I check, all ok!

Problem solved!

Please let us know what the issue was.
