I’m a many-year user of DxO PhotoLab going back to Optics Pro. Using version 9.9.1-721 on Windows with ARW files from a Sony RX10M4. DxO is adding a series of color barcodes to exported JPG images that it did not do in the past. (It has been a while since I’ve been shooting RAW and switched back). It does not do this if I am exporting a processed JPG image. I’ve never seen this before and can’t find a setting controlling it. What have I missed? When I process the same ARW using Adobe Camera Raw, no barcode appears.
They’re not barcodes - They are artifacts from the rendering process … I’m guessing your PC configuration is not quite up the task (with a LOT more demand on resources by PLv9 - - especially dependent on a “grunty” GPU)
Well, that’s disappointing. I have a mini-pc with Intel Core Ultra 7 155H and Intel Arc integrated GPU. I used earlier models with DxO for raw images without issues. I don’t mind if it’s not blazing fast, but to corrupt my images is just wrong. I consider this a bug.
Hi - I would raise a support ticket with DXO before considering any hardware upgrade!
I have a similar set up to yourself, Ultra 9 rather than i7 with Intel ARC 140t iGPU.
DxO had a few problems with Intel chips on the release of PL9, but after working with DxO’s tech team for quite a while it must be said, after submitting a ticket PL works fine and as it should do after the release of PL9.6.
Since the release of PL9.6 I haven’t had a single error or crash on export , rendering or AI masking!
As long as your machine meets the min specs from DxO you shouldn’t be having any problems. - Check your RAM
You will find that there are quite a few voices on the forum that either don’t realise or refuse to accept that PL9 will work just fine with Intel chips and iGPu’s!
Have a look at your preference settings under “Edit” and make sure that you select “Intel AI Boost” under preferences - DxO Tech section told me to select this so that the NPU attached to the Intel processor will automatically select the correct way to route the AI instructions between the NPU and the GPU. Selecting the GPU on the preferences will in effect disable the use of the NPU and the AI Boost.
Under the display setting tab in preferences my machine works fine with both high quality preview and DeepPrime Rendering selected - full screen rendering focusing almost instantaneously after opening a first image. - You may notice that the first image opened , first use of Loupe focus and first export to disc may take around an additional 25-30 seconds to complete, but subsequently times decrease significantly - DxO tech section have comfirmed to me that this is what they expect to see as the NPU pre-allocates tasks efficiently between the AI boost on the NPU and the iGPU.
I too have a Sony RX10iv among my cameras, but I haven’t seen the effect that you are experiencing.
Finally, how long have you been using PL9 on your machine? has this issue only arrisen since 9.9.1? Are you getting this with every ARW export?
