Export of DNG (regular or compressed) to LIghtroom Classic 15.3 - not useful

In the past, I exported DNGs to LR Classic. I stopped, because the DNG was unusable. I used tiff, usually 8-bit, to achieve satisfactory results. I am using the latest version of Photolab and the latest version of Lightroom Classic. A few days ago, I tried exporting images processed in PL to LR Classic, using compressed DNG. I might just as well have done all of my processing in Lightroom. I reverted to exporting TIFF files to get my work done.

Could someone please tell me what actually works? Do I need to use Pure Raw to export DNGs properly to LR. Is this supposed to work or not?

I have been using DXO since ver 2 or 3, it’s been so long I don’t remember. I prefer this RAW editor to anything else, but why are features included that clearly do not work?

Thank you.

If you’re exporting to linear DNG (compressed or not), DxO doesn’t apply all corrections to it, as it’s treated as an intermediate stage for further processing in another application. So you would have to develop that further in Lightroom or return it back to PhotoLab for more work. This is mentioned in DxO’s current release notes and other documentation.
