DxO Standard Preset Vulnerability?

https://support.dxo.com/hc/en-us/articles/7025885333405-How-should-I-configure-DxO-PhotoLab-in-order-to-see-similar-results-to-those-produced-by-DxO-PureRAW

  • Moiré
DxO’s standard preset, if I understand correctly, combines all PureRAW settings with Smart Lighting. Documentation indicates it enables moiré patterns, but DxO PhotoLab does not. PureRAW also lacks an option to disable moiré patterns. Does this mean DNG files processed by PureRAW have moiré patterns forced on? If so, does this imply PhotoLab’s presets aren’t utilizing PureRAW’s full capabilities? Could other FilmPacks/Nik Collections/Viewpoint plugins have similar minor flaws?

The link referenced in your post simply indicates which settings need to be enabled in PhotoLab (Elite) to achieve a result comparable to PureRAW.

PureRAW does indeed use moiré correction, but it’s not possible to disable it. PhotoLab allows you to enable or disable it, at the user’s discretion.
In fact, PhotoLab offers the most customizable settings, but fundamentally, it’s the same engine. The DxO preset is just one of the many presets available in PhotoLab, and all of them can be modified by the user.
