DxO PureRaw 6 and Lightroom Desktop Compatibility

I just purchased DxO Pureraw 6. I use Lightroom Desktop v9.2
When I try to “edit in > PureRaw 6 I’m getting 2 popups, one which is saying be sure your photo is saved or Finish, I have to cancel this popup. The second popup reports an import error and then refers to a the file I am trying to import but refers to it as a .tif file rather than the .arw file which it is ?
If I open DxO PureRaw separately and open the .arw file from it’s directory it opens ok, I can process the file but if LR Desktop is open I cannot see the processed .dng file unless I close LR Desktop and re-open it.

When I use LR Classic and DxO PureRaw plugin the same .arw file opens ok..

Is Lightroom Desktop not compatible with DxO PureRaw6 ?

Welcome to the forum @Nick_T

Check out the support documents, e.g. this:

https://support.dxo.com/hc/en-us/articles/4406551767825-DxO-PhotoLab-DxO-PureRAW-DxO-FilmPack-DxO-ViewPoint-compatibility-with-OSes-third-party-software

Opening a raw file with R means that we need to use the module options, not the edit with option. Lr Desktop can still work with files exported by PureRAW, but PR only edits RAW files and therefore, it’s best to open the file with PureRAW instead of trying anything else.

Thanks @platypus ,

Yes it has become apparent that PR is not fully integrated into Lightroom Desktop. I opened a support case which confirmed this is the case. I do think DxO should be more specific about this.
I will use PR6 in standalone mode which is not optimum for workflow but I’ve paid for the software now. The issue I described related to not seeing the .dng in Lightroom when processing is complete was my error, I had not selected the “open in application” option correctly so at least this part of the workflow is ok.

Use File > Plug In Extras> instead of “Edit In”. Then its fine.

I’m using Lightroom Desktop, there is no DxO plugin for that.
DxO support confirmed that only Lightroom Classic is fully integrated.

No idea what “Lightroom Desktop” is to guess.

Adobes naming conventions are all the shop.

We had what was just called “Lightroom” which is the proper full featured Lightroom desktop application that got renamed to “Lightroom Classic”.

They then released “Lightroom Creative Cloud” which is the cut down version and renamed that to “Lightroom”.

I cant see any reference to “desktop” anywhere as a product.

Names have come and gone, and Adobe uses whatever they use. At least, they mention cancellation fees.

C’est la vie!
