DXO produces very dark output files

Hi All
I currently have a stand alone version of DxO PureRaw 4 Version 4.13.0 / Build 2 / 64 bit. Whenever I import any images into this program for noise removal, the corresponding DNG file it produces comes out very dark, nothing like the original. Would anyone have any idea what is happening. I tried getting in touch with DxO on a few occasions but they never get back to me.
Many Thanks

Tom

Hi Tom,

I don’t have PureRAW - but, based on PhotoLab experience, is it possible you have the “wrong” ICC Profile specified for your output target ? … As in, one that doesn’t match your monitor - such as AdobeRGB, when your monitor handles only sRGB.

Maybe Nikon Active D-Lighting or similar feature for other brands was active?
Camera generates “correct” embedded jpeg, while PureRAW ignores the setting.

Hi John I shoot raw only and the RGB matches the colour profile. This only started to happen when I had an update to DXO, it was perfect for the years before that, just wondering if it has something to do with that
Thanks

Hi Wlodek
I import the raw files into a folder on my desktop, I then sort them out in DPP, they all look perfect. When I then run them through DXO the resulting DNG images come out all dark, I then have to mess around lightening them all up. I think it might have something to do with the last update as they used to be fine before that

When you tell PureRAW to generate a JPG (from your RAW files), are you asked to specify an ICC Profile to be used in rendering the JPG ? … In which case, which ICC Profile are you requesting (it probably should be sRGB) - and, does it match your monitor ?

This happens to me but only with the Fujifilm X-E5. My other camera’s files are spot on.

Mmmm - OK, I’m out of ideas …

Perhaps someone more familiar with output to .DNGs may have some suggestions.
