I believe hdr monitors are mostly ment for gaming. High contrast colors.

For anyone with an interest, Greg Benz has provided a wealth of how-to information (see link below). This includes image samples and tests for addressing the dizzying array of camera, browser, application, and display variables in play. For still photography, lingering problems do present formidable roadblocks to widespread adoption. That DxO PL is sitting this out for the moment is understandable. But, never say never. Just consider the video landscape - I mean, who prefers watching a new movie or a sporting event on SDR TV if HDR is available?
