Hi i have recently purchased the dxo photolab 8 trying to migrate away from the adobe option,i mainly use lightroom and for my culling ,now i have been watching anthony morganti tutorial and i noticed when he sorting through images in photo library he has a pop box with left and right shift and the ability to bin/remove ,he use mac but this option i can not see on my windows version ,is there another way i can easily cull images in the window version.Any info much appreciated

I use the inexpensive FastRawViewer for culling and setting star ratings which are read by PL.

For my needs, culling in the customize mode works fine. I see the image in the main viewer and scroll through the images using the filmstrip at the bottom using the reject (“x”) to note images for deletion. I generally do two passes, deleting the obvious junk the first time, and then the rest of the deletions after seeing the entire set.
I generally have 200-1000 shots to review for the day (when I do lots of bursts for BIF).
The speed of your system will determine the image update time. I’ve used this method on a Windows I-7 CPU with 3060 GPU and a Mac M4. My previous method was FastRawViewer prior to calling up in PL. For me, this is at least a fast as the FRV process.
My only real complaint is having to reselect the filmstrip to get the arrow keys to responds after doing something with the main image.
OK my pc is i9 14900k 64gb and nvidia 3050 gpu ok i will try this normally with lightroom i do the culling off the card on import but there is no import in dxo labs so i guess i will send images to folder location ,then delete reject X from there ,i tried fast raw viewer (trial) very buggy and slow on sony A1 images if culling over a thousand +images dxo seemed seamless and smooth in comparison

Not sure which palette is not working for you. No need to “float” any palettes.
In settings, set the thumbnail view to “Always” show the Red/Green dots for(reject/picked). This allows you to see always see the “reject” (red) or “picked” (green) status.
Switch to the “Customize” tab so you have the main image viewer and the filmstrip at the bottom. This is much like the default view in FRV and the LRc “Develop” module. You can hide or keep the side tool panes open. No floating palettes or customization required.
Like the other software, you can use the arrow keys to quickly move right/left on the filmstrip to view a single image and quickly mark the rejects with the “X” key or set a ranking.
We all have our one variations, but I use the first pass to set the obvious rejects; then filter to select all rejects and delete. The second pass is to review and rank the “keepers” as well as more rejects. I use the “reference” tool to compare two photos as needed, but also use the “projects” view to compare multiple images to select the “best” of a series.
This works exactly the same in PC or Mac (at least for my systems).
Try doing it in full screen.
Can you explain. Not sure how that helps as would need to toggle back in/out of fullscreen.
plus, working from a single screen and prefer to also see the filmstrip.

In the full screen mode, this is not the case.
The selection arrows are always activated.
I’m not at my computer currently so cannot be explicit, but pulling down from somewhere at the top of the library screen reveals the image viewer. I prefer not to use it, but often when I have been using my laptop portably and then plug back into my large monitor, PL will pull it down for me, so I do see it and I know to get rid of it, I drag the separator back up to the top.
Me too. I just use the basic culling but it’s quite an advanced viewer.
