Downloading PL9 to my new laptop

Hi everyone,
I have just bought my new Windows 11 laptop. When I sought to download PL9 onto my new laptop I could only find the links to download the free trial or pay for another license.
Surely the license is not tied to the machine. Can anyone advise how I can download onto my new laptop without having to pay for PL9 again?

I suggest to login to your DxO account in their site.
You find PL download link in there.

Licence is tied (at least from v7)
In menu (PL9) → Help - > Licence management

Please check the following DxO support page article:
I am out of activations for my DxO software. What should I do?

  1. Go to your DxO customer account.
  2. Log in with the email address used for your purchase.
  3. Click on “License management” on the left and confirm your login in the window which will open.
  4. On the left, select the software you want to deactivate.
  5. Click “Deauthorize” next to the computer you want to free.

Do you not still have a copy of the installer from when you first installed PL? If not, as already advised, get a new copy by logging into your DxO Shop account. Having down that, keep the installer. DxO only ever have the most recent version available for download so keeping copies of old installers provides you with fall back options if a future update does something dire and you need to roll back.

Yes, the license is tied to the machine but your one activation code is good for up to three activations (assuming you have the Elite version). Again as already advised, you can manage your license activations via your DxO Shop account.

Many thanks for the advice, it worked a treat. I still had a the installer from the last upgrade. I have now saved this in a safe place in case I need it again. I just have to get in touch with DxO to get them to send me an activation code.

You shouldn’t need to do that. You should be able to use your existing activation code, which you can find by logging into your DxO Shop account. That one code will activate up to three installations of PhotoLab (assuming you have the Elite version).

If your existing activation code doesn’t work, then check how many times and on what PCs it has been used again by logging into your DxO Shop account and then using the ‘License Management’ option.
