Can someone do something about managing spammers ? I was trying to flag a load just now but, after a certain number, I got a message telling me I had performed the same action too many times and would have to wait 23 hours to flag more.
I’m marking them as spam as fast as I can. I hope DxO do something very soon, and not wait until office hours tomorrow morning.
EDITED:
Oh that just hopeless. I can no longer flag stuff as spam because I’ve done it too many times. I have to wait 23 hours and try again. What sort of forum software allows that sort of crippling behaviour?
EDITED AGAIN:
It’s not just the spam flag I can’t use, trying any of the other flags gives the same brick wall, try again in 23 hours.
Mutter, mutter. This is the first time in many years I have seen such aggressive spamming. Ah well, I guess we’ll just have to wait until tomorrow.
I used to be part of the community who used Borland development software and they created something called TeamB, which a bunch of us who were knowledgeable about the product and fairly constant contributors to their forums. We were given supervisory privileges, which allowed us to help manage them at weekends.
How about TeamDxO?
I’m with you on that idea and I have suggested it to DxO several times, when I’ve reported posts that have gone way off topic and into politics. Usually I got no response but back in October 2024, @Fabrice-B responded with:
Every other forum in which I participate has active moderators. We can but live in hope…
Yes indeed.
There are a number of members I can think about being more than suitable for such task.
it’s Sunday, not sure anyone at dxo is working right now.
on that note, i wish you all a nice day, get outside and go take pictures =]
I can’t believe how many have been posted in several different categories. There must be al least a hundred or more so far with new ones every few minutes . I am guessing the perpetrator is an angry user of one of DxO’s products. Why else create so many user ID’s and generate so many spam messages whose only purpose seems to be the disruption of this site.

Angry TikTok user taking it out on everyone
Probably a spambot. Definitely linked to India.
If it is related to TikTok, this may be a problem on a number of online forums today.

Oh wow I just came around and got 197 new messages… gosh… you got me
This many spam topics, with nothing to stop more from coming, would keep even a reasonable number of volunteer moderators rather busy. I happen to have a Discourse trust level 3. It was given to me years ago to help with assigning topics to the correct categories. I can’t delete posts. However, supposedly I can flag enough posts that all posts from the offending accounts will be rendered invisible. I have some free time and so will give it a try.
That’s very generous. Thank you.
Unfortunately, I also ran into the limit and must wait 23 hours. Got a few accounts unlisted, though.
Hopefully by tomorrow DxO Admins will resolve things.

Seems to have slowed down, if not stopped. And TikTok was given a stay of execution. Curious. Nope, spoke too soon.
LOL….
No sense flagging them. You are wasting your time. Anyone with half a brain can figure out which need to be deleted. Problem is they have the posting bot working overtime now and this forum is completely useless now.
DXO either has to change the settings here (like post approval for every member’s first 5 posts) or shut this whole forum down.
We know they always are watching the fourms, so I am sure they must know about this. But the obvious action was to close it untill they sorted out how to deal with it but
I just logged in this morning to see I had 772 new notifications.
But, worse - I also received 54 notifications in my email box, presumably because I had reported that many post, which stimulated a notification for every one that I had read.
Now I have just received another four email notifications, possibly because I have marked some posts read without actually opening them.
Hmmm. Now that’s a bit quieter. Here’s hoping they’ve snagged the idiots.
Hey, then we have been colleagues ! I have been a Borland fan from day 1… until I became Microsoft Development MVP after I left IBM and created my own consulting shop. I even wrote a (now totally outdated) book about Turbo Pascal. This was 37 years ago. Gott, oh Gott !
