Displaying Color Rendering for Fuji film simulations

I am a raw shooter and never paid much attention to film simulations in my X-T5 but now I am exploring them as a way to control the starting point of my post-processing. I have just shot and uploaded two images, one with the Provia simulation and the other with Sepia.

When I select the two RAF files in my DAM (Photo Supreme) and launch PL9, the focus in the film strip is on the first thumb in the selection, which in this case uses the Provia simulation.

For Color/B&W Rendering

  • Type: Generic rendering
  • Rendering: From camera (PROVIA/STANDARD)

When I click on the second thumbnail in the filmstrip, the image properly updates to the Sepia image but the value displayed in the control for Rendering remains UNchanged as PROVIA/STANDARD

When I change the value of Rendering to, say, DXO-Vivid, then display values in the dropdown, the list updates to include From camera (SEPIA). Further, when one image is set to DXO-Vivid and the other is a From camera simulation, the control properly updates when switching back and forth between images. So far, the control fails to update only when switching between two different film simulations.

I suspect this is a bug but I wonder if there is anything I can do to display the camera’s rendering model without having to change the control away and back again.

Hope this is clear and I look forward to advice.

Yes, I’ve seen this in PL9 too when checking Fuji files, and it looks like it’s displaying the name of the last used setting (before exiting PL) – which is simply misleading.

May I propose to send a bug report to https://support.dxo.com/hc/en-us/
