Correct Image in DXO and Export to LR in DNG compressed?

Hi,

Is it possible to edit an image in DXO and export it to LR using the New Compressed DNG format, and at the same time keeping the color correction?

I understand that the DNG format is supposed to be a Raw Version encapsulated into another format, so I wonder if it’s the reason correction are not applied….

But then I don’t get the point of how I can use DNG in the workflow.

Right now I retouch color & noise in DXO, export in TIFF for LR and then use LR magical AI tools for the last touch.

Is there a way to keep the same workflow but using Dng compressed, instead of TIFF?

Let me know what I am missing.

The DNG output from PhotoLab are processed linear DNG files with optical corrections and are not encapsulated raw files.

As of PL9, the DNG file type is intended as an intermediate stage for “improving” the RAW file to edit in other applications. To that end, only PhotoLab’s “corrective” technologies are included in the export. Any “creative” changes are not.

The corrective changes included are: Denoise, Retouch, ReShape, Optical Corrections (Lens Sharpness, Vignetting, Distortion, Chromatic Aberrations), Perspective, Horizon, Crop, and Red Eyes.

Some might argue a few of those are creative (especially crop), but essentially if you are manually adjusting light and colour, it’s not included.

It is important to understand that the linear DNG file has no color space (like a raw file) and cannot contain hue or color corrections.

Thanks for the clarification.
So this new compressed DNG option is useful if you do all your color correction in LR.

I prefer the way DXO adjust the colors better than LR.
So I guess I will continue to export in TIFF toward LR.
And for the Raw compression, I will continue to wait for some startup to create a new solution (there was one a few years ago but they stopped), and that DXO will be compatible with it.
